I am experiencing the same problem on a recently purchased Inspiron Driver reload by Dell Tech via Tech Support chat fixed it first time. Has happened again. Driver reload fixed again Dell has authorized replacement of my touch screen. Tech arrived yesterday, however he was given the wrong part and I am waiting for Dell to get back to me to schedule another visit. I'll advise if replacement of the screen is the permanent fix.

Replacement of my touchscreen is still questionable. Dell advised me today that they will no longer offer the touchscreen feature on this particular model. This model [Inspiron ] is still been offered with touchscreen and we will continue to do so with windows 8. I have an Inspiron One running Windows 7 which is also having a problem with touch screen.

Tech support could not solve the problem. The Microsoft KB addresses this issue. Dell Tech Support never referenced it. Contacted Microsoft Support and there is still no resolution to the issue. In response, this does not help. Every two days I receive a call from Dell telling me they will get back to me in another hours. Browse Community. Turn on suggestions. I believe the hard drive is on its last leg, as I cannot log into any of the user accounts without the machine freezing and unable to load the desktop or any desktop apps.

I want to swap out the hard drive for a new one, but I need to be able to access the BIOS to change the boot drive to the new one, but I am unable to access it. No matter what I do, I can't access it.

New! Inspiron One 2330 all-in-one with optional touch screen

After restarting or booting the machine, I get no prompt to press F2 or whatever before going straight to the Dell splash screen, and no amount of pressing or holding F2 does anything. I've tried everything, even opening up the casing and swapping the SW50 pin for a few seconds and restarting the computer afterwards.

It did get me somewhere, the first time I tried to boot the machine it gave me an option to enter BIOS setup or continue to Windows. I tried entering the BIOS setup, but none of my keyboard inputs were working, and it gave me the "keyboard malfunction" error. It is not my keyboard's fault, as I have tested the inputs on a different computer, and the keyboard works fine when Windows boots and I get to the login screen. I don't know what to do next.

Is there anything I can do? Always include version of Windows in your posts. Your problems don't necessarily mean the hard drive failed.

You could have bad RAM, a corrupted Windows file smalware, etc. Have you replaced the motherboard battery? If the battery died, you could have problems booting. You don't want to hold F2 at boot, just start tapping it as soon as you power on.

Reboot and immediately start tapping F If that works, look for the option to run the Diagnostics on the F12 menu and run all of them, including RAM and hard drive.

If you replace the hard drive, you don't want to change the boot sequence in BIOS. I do not have trouble booting Windows, though I can only get so far when I do.I have a Dell Inspiron Onefirst purchased in February so it is out of warranty.

About a week ago, I noticed a crack in the screen. The screen is currently usable, as the crack is only around the bezel area -- but I would like to get it fixed, and to know how much this will cost. I called Dell customer service and have been bounced around from number to number, without anything getting resolved. Can someone assist me with getting this resolved?

I'm open to fixing it myself, if that's possible, as I see replacement screens for sale on eBay and elsewhere. Go to Solution. This is primarily a user-to-user forum so we can't really help you with what Dell customer service says or does. The manual has instructions to replace the display starting on page Suggest you read it over carefully and decide if this is something you can handle yourself because it requires removing many major parts.

You don't want to cause additional problems so if you can't do this, you might ask a reputable PC shop in your local area how much they'd charge to replace the panel if you buy a used screen elsewhere. And check Dell Spare Parts for their price on a new screen to make sure you don't over-pay for something that's used and may not come with a warranty. View solution in original post.
